Deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 48-year-old celebrity blogger's home in Florida on Tuesday after they received "multiple" calls from concerned fans about his behaviour during the distressing livestream, now removed from the platform.
At the scene, deputies spoke with family members and confirmed that the influencer was the only person inside the property at the time of the livestream.
Later, pictures emerged of an ambulance outside Hilton's home, and police confirmed he "had been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a hospital, where he received medical attention.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals stayed at the scene, "providing support and resources to the individual's family".
No further update on Hilton's condition has been released.
His representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, released a statement to TMZ.
"We are aware of the concerning content circulating online involving our client, Perez Hilton," they said.
"At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him despite our ongoing efforts to reach him.
"Our primary concern is Perez's health and wellbeing, as well as the wellbeing of his family.
"Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further."
Hilton has had a turbulent year as he has experienced multiple health scares, including a three-week hospital stay and a massive blood clot.
He previously explained that he was "praying to God daily" following his troubles.
The internet personality has a son and two daughters, all of whom he welcomed via a surrogate in 2013, 2015, and 2017, respectively.
