Valentin Vacherot has reached his first final of 2026, and just the second of his career, with a straight-sets upset of Taylor Fritz at the Swiss Indoors tennis tournament.
Vacherot, who represents Monaco, beat the sixth-seeded American 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 on Saturday (Sunday AEDT) to march into the final.
He will be looking for his second ATP title after winning the 2025 Shanghai Masters.
Vacherot's victory avenged last year's three-set loss to Fritz in Basel, which was their only other career encounter.
He will play Jiri Lehecka for the trophy after the eighth-seeded Czech defeated Jan-Lennard Struff 3-6 7-5 6-4.
German 36-year-old Struff had been in vintage form, having eliminated veteran Serb and former world No.1 Novak Djokovic on Thursday.
