Tonight our Under-12, Under-13 and Under-14 girls, Olivia Goodwin, Libby Renkin, Eleanor Renkin and Mary Moll worked hard towards recording their personal bests in the 800m run that we have set up on the Benalla Rovers Soccer Club pitch, while Benalla Rural City Council provide some maintenance on our track.
Racing away: Cameron Toppin and Elsie Cavill running hard.
A big thank you to Benalla Rovers Soccer Club for allowing us to use their pitch.
Eleanor Renkin has set herself a goal in working to beat tonight’s run at 3.32.78.
We can’t wait to watch her grow this season and beat her personal best — knowing Olivia, she will beat it several times before we wind up at the end of March.
Under-13 Kai Dervish kept his calm as he completed the 400m in 1:37.25.
Full tilt: Zahara Peach.
On the other side of the track our youngest athletes recorded their first ever results.
Our Under-6/Under-7/Under-8/Under-9 and Under-10s ran the 70m sprint.
Under-6 Ethan Barry set his first time completing the 70m in 17:78 seconds.
Arching back: Mary Moll.
Check out the determination on his face.
Under-7 Chessie Wilson ran an impressive 15:40.
Under-7 Naomi Hein had her eye on Under-7 Jaxson Heatherill as they raced towards the finish line.
All smiles: Lawson Hanrahan.
Love that smile on her face as she attempts to get past him.
Talking about smiles, Under-9 Lawson Hanrahan always runs with the biggest smiles on his face.
Launching long: Abigail Thannhauser has a go at discus.
Under-13 Mary Moll demonstrated to our littlest athletes how to throw the shot put.
One of our newest athletes to Benalla Little Athletics Under-11 Eli McKean had a go and “pushing” the shot put as far away from his as possible.
Putting in work: Matilda Donnelly.
Under-7 Naomi Hein practiced with little bean bags last week and this week had a go with our smallest shot put. What a star.
Good technique: Eli McKean.
Under-10 Lavinia Kinderis and Under-9 Abigail Thannhauser practised their discus.
Both came awfully close to throwing their personal bests and we expect great things from both girls in the coming weeks.
