The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) has announced the appointment of a new leadership team for the VFF Horticulture group, with Goulburn Valley farmer Michael Crisera elected as president.
Joining the leadership group are Kain Richardson as Western Region councillor, Monre Meyer as Central Region councillor and Dean Gazzola as Central Region councillor.
VFF Returning Officer Charlie Thomas congratulated the incoming team and said the appointments reflected the strength and experience within Victoria’s horticulture sector.
“Michael and the entire team bring a wealth of industry knowledge, practical experience and a deep understanding of the challenges facing growers across Victoria and I look forward to working with them on behalf of all Victorian horticulture producers.”
“Michael’s background in commercial fruit production, grower advocacy and technical advisory services positions him strongly to lead the VFF Horticulture group at an important time for the sector.”
“As the sector continues to navigate labour shortages, rising costs and market pressures, strong industry representation has never been more important,” Mr Thomas said.
He said Mr Crisera had built an extensive career across horticultural production, industry representation and extension services, earning a reputation as a trusted and practical voice for growers.
