Sometimes, the difference between a young person dreaming about their future and believing they can achieve it, is simply knowing someone believes in them too.
Since 2014, the Lift Off Education Scholarship program has supported 164 school leavers from across the Goulburn Valley to take their next step into higher education.
Lift Off scholarships support students undertaking diplomas, bachelor degrees and other higher education courses, helping to overcome the financial and other barriers that can make further study feel out of reach.
But the impact is about more than financial assistance.
It is the confidence that comes from knowing your community sees your potential, backs your ambitions and wants to see you succeed.
“The Lift Off scholarship has played an important role in supporting my education journey by easing the financial pressure of everyday living costs such as rent, utilities, and transport,” Women’s Charter Alliance Scholarship recipient Ella Hibble said.
“This support has allowed me to focus more fully on my coursework, attend classes consistently, and engage confidently in my studies.
“I have been able to manage my workload more effectively and continue progressing toward my goal of working in education and student wellbeing.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity and ongoing support provided through this scholarship.”
Applications for the 2027 Lift Off Education Scholarships opened on Monday, September 14 and close Monday, December 14.
