Police seek assistance over hit and run

Investigators believe a car also travelling on Kilfeera Road, east of the Hume Highway overpass, struck him and left the scene without stopping.

Mr Brown was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Hi wife Jan posted the following message on the Benalla Ensign Facebook page:

"My husband Peter was the cyclist and is currently in the Alfred having X-rays as he may have broken pelvis or hip, but thankfully it looks as though there is no internal injuries. The main concern is that whoever hit him did not stop but the police are looking at the bits and pieces of the car left behind to ascertain what sort of car it was and they think it (might) be a local driving down that road. Hopefully they will catch up to the person or better still that he gives himself up of his own accord. Hopefully he will be back in Benalla soon."

Police would like to speak with the driver of a silver Ford Falcon with panel damage to the passenger side, who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
