The Benalla school made the announcement during a ‘7’ themed afternoon tea celebration, which was attended by current students and staff.
School principal Terry Harding said the idea came to the table following feedback from parents.
“When Year 6 families approached me about expanding to include high school from 2021, I eagerly accepted the challenge,” Dr Harding said.
“It is an incredible vote of confidence that our existing families are committed to ACC’s curriculum and community.
“I look forward to a favourable response from the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority application.”
The idea is to begin with Year 7, then add a grade each year until the school can offer a full P-12 curriculum.
Expressions of interest for enrolments for the 2021 class of Year 7 are now being accepted.
