Olympic equestrian hopeful Callum Buczak will no longer face trial after charges against him have been dropped.

The 27 year old had been accused of stalking and raping a fellow rider at Frankston in February 2019.

Mr Buczak was set to face a trial at the County Court in Melbourne within days over the allegations, but his lawyer Damian Sheales has confirmed the charges against his client have been discontinued.

The Office of Public Prosecutions has been contacted for comment.
