The long-awaited $7.9 million facility is a step up from the 1950s building that previously housed the local police officers on Maiden St, Moama.
The new station has been outfitted with state-of-the-art technology to align Moama with its metropolitan counterparts and to meet current standards for custody facilities, office facilities and public facing areas.
The building has also been designed with the future in mind, with space for up to 30 police officers, allowing room for new staff, detectives and other visiting police.
All existing staff have moved to the Cobb Hwy station.
Any community members who need to visit the local police can head to the new station located on 216 Cobb Hwy, Moama.
Counterfeit notes
District residents have been warned about counterfeit notes which may be circulating in the region after detections in Rochester.
The first counterfeit detected was a $100 note with the serial number CD08284521, similar to a batch of notes reported in Melbourne earlier this year.
A counterfeit $20 note was also reported in Rochester on December 11.
Most counterfeits are printed on paper and can be easily torn, while a genuine banknote should return to shape after it is scrunched up.
