The Australian Heritage festival kicked off yesterday (Tuesday, April 26) with several events and workshops scheduled for Benalla.

Both the Benalla Family Research Group (BFRG) and the Benalla Historical Society are involved and there is a range of events and workshops available until the festival closes on Friday, April 29.
Wednesday, April 27:
Benalla Cemetery walk and talk from 10.30am - 12.30pm. JEff Knight will discuss the ‘Role of Cemetery Trusts’ and guided walks are available. Cost: $5 per person.
Workshops at the BFRG rooms on Church St. Three workshops available: The impact of DNA on family trees; Online resources; and Manage a timeline. From 1.30 - 3.30pm. Cost $5.
Thursday April 28:
DNA master Class by Emeritus Professor Dr Jim Burnell at the BFRG rooms on Church St from 10.30am - 12.30pm. Cost $5.
How to tell a good story with guest speakers, authors, John Barry and Barry O’Connor at the BFRG rooms on Church St from 1.30pm - 3.30pm. Cost $5
Friday April 29:
Benalla Migrant Camp exhibition. Open from 10.30am - 12.30pm. Cost 45.
Town walk with history, presented by the Benalla Historical Society. Begins at the BFRG rooms on Church St from 1.30pm - 3.30pm. Cost $5.
