Benalla bushwalkers go kayaking

The Benalla bushwalkers swapped land for a lake on a recent trip.

On Thursday, February 13, a group of local bushwalkers headed out on to lake Benalla for a day of kayaking.

Benalla bushwalker Bev Thornell said the leader for the day was James Flood.

“He led us on a delightful kayak on Lake Benalla and then upstream and downstream on the Broken River,” she said.

“It was a lovely cool morning, with only a little breeze, and on the way the group spotted many waterbirds.

“A casual slow boat outing is also a great way to socialise.”

After the kayaks were packed up, the group enjoyed morning tea and scones.
