Benalla Centrelink closed with customers sent to Wangaratta office

Benalla Centrelink office has been closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Services Australia general manager Hank Jongen said the decision was made to divert customers to the Wangaratta office as they were unable to meet staffing requirements in Benalla.

“The health and safety of our staff and customers is our highest priority,” Mr Jongen said.

“Our Benalla office is currently closed as we are unable to meet the staffing levels required to maintain the face-to-face service due to Coronavirus related requirements.

“The centre will be re-opened as soon as it has been deemed safe for staff and customers.

“People can complete most of their business over the phone or by using the Centrelink or Medicare app, or online via their myGov account.”

Customers are being asked to travel to Wangaratta for appointments.
