Benalla Health thanks its dedicated volunteers

Benalla Health volunteers Ray Burley, Julia O’Brien and Gerry Oliver.

National Volunteer Week 2025 is a great opportunity to get in touch and chat about ways you could join us in creating the best care at Benalla Health.

Volunteering at Benalla Health is a great way to make connections, create lasting relationships, enrich lives and strengthen your local community.

Not only do you give back to your community, volunteering can foster a sense of community engagement, connection and belonging.

National Volunteer Week celebrates the power of volunteering to bring people together with the 2025 theme being ‘Connecting Communities’.

The week acknowledges the spirit of connection and the incredible impact volunteers have in building thriving and inclusive communities.

There are three rewarding ways to volunteer your time and participate in Benalla’s health service:

  • Become a Hospital Auxiliary member and support the fundraising efforts of this active group.
  • Be a consumer representative on a committee or working group, and provide unique and valuable insights into the healthcare system.
  • Become a volunteer in one or more of our programs across Benalla Health’s campus, providing social support in acute care, aged care and community health services.

Words of gratitude from Benalla Health

Our volunteers Margaret Frankland and Ray Burley have been supporting PAG and have been giving back to the Benalla community for over six years.

The PAG team and all the participants would like to thank them for their ongoing dedication.

The CPC team values the dedicated training and skills volunteers bring to their roles.

Thanks Graham Jensen and Liz Brown for the wonderful work and ongoing dedication over the past two years.

Gerry Oliver and Remo Ascenzo have undertaken several roles across the Benalla Health campus, including supporting the Day Procedure Unit this last year.

Thank you both for all the great cuppas.

Morrie Evans Wing and Acute Ward:

One-to-one companionship has been provided by Rae Rees and Julia O’Brien over the past year in the Morrie Evans Wing and the Acute Ward.
