Council’s contractor, Riverina Floor Sanding, has delivered upgrades to courts one, two and three, along with improvements to the entrance foyer.
The project included replacing damaged floorboards, drum sanding, detailed line marking and applying a new protective coating.
The new line marking provides two netball courts, two volleyball courts, two basketball courts and eight badminton courts across courts one and two.
These works ensure the centre remains safe, well maintained and ready to support ongoing sport and recreation activities for people of all ages.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the upgrades are a fantastic boost for the whole community, supporting everyone who relies on the centre for sport, connection and healthy activity.
“The Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre is a place where people of all ages can learn new skills, feel confident and stay active,” Cr Hearn said.
“These upgrades mean our community now has a safer, better space to enjoy.
“It’s great to see this busy centre looking fresh and ready for use again.
“Well-maintained spaces like this play an important role in supporting local sport, encouraging greater participation, boosting community health and wellbeing and bringing people together.”
The centre has now reopened following the completion of works.
This project is funded by State Government National Disaster Support funding, Council and the Benalla Indoor Recreation Centre Committee of Management.
