This year the event will be held in front of the Botanical Gardens Band Stand on Sunday, December 21.
A Benalla Lions spokesperson said the club was once again organising the event and took special pride in providing this night for the community.
“From 7pm, the Benalla Rose City Band and the Benalla P-12 Band will begin the entertainment with some wonderful Christmas music,” the spokesperson said.
“Santa will make a special appearance and children will be able to meet him, adding a real treat for the young ones.
“Leading the singing will be the Benalla Theatre Company choir.
“It’s uplifting to be able to sing together as a large group.
“The carols to be sung on the evening include Silent Night, Away in a Manger and the children’s favourite, Jingle Bells.”
The special guest will be Benalla’s international country and western star Wayne Horsburgh, who will sing a number of Christmas songs.
Jamie Boatwood will compere the evening and Rev Melissa Clark of the Anglican Church, Benalla will give the Christmas message.
Come along, bring a picnic rug or chair and your singing voice, then join in an enjoyable evening that will conclude about 9.30pm, so children are not over-tired.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Benalla Town Hall.
