Benalla police make two arrests

Benalla police have made two significant arrests this week as part of ongoing efforts to address crime and keep the community safe.

Earlier this week, a 35-year-old Benalla man was arrested in relation to an alleged carjacking and aggravated burglary that occurred in Benalla. He was charged and remanded in custody.

A 23-year-old Drouin man was also arrested in connection with multiple alleged thefts from motor vehicles and shop thefts at local supermarkets. He, too, was charged and remanded in custody.

A police spokesperson said they understood these incidents had generated significant community interest.

“We want to reassure the Benalla community that our members are actively investigating crime, conducting proactive patrols, and working tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible for offending,” the spokesperson said.

“If you have information that could assist police with an investigation, or if you witness suspicious behaviour, please report it.”
