The pump track forms a key element of the Fawckner Dve masterplan, aimed at enhancing recreation and open space along the lakeside precinct.
On November 18, World Trail — the contractor selected to deliver the pump track — hosted a feedback pop-up session to engage directly with the community.
The session was a resounding success, attracting a range of community members, from grandparents and young families to advanced riders and kids simply excited to see what’s coming.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with no suggested changes to the draft concept plan.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn welcomed the milestone.
“It’s great to see our community come together to support this exciting initiative,” she said.
“The number of people we saw at the session highlights just how much this project means to our community, and the feedback was all positive.
“As part of the broader Fawckner Dve Masterplan, the pump track will be a fun new place for people to ride, be active and spend time together.
“It’s designed for riders with different skill levels, so everyone can enjoy it.
“With construction to begin in early 2026, this project has been shaped by local ideas, and we can see that many families, riders and community groups are excited to see it come to life.”
The draft concept plan includes clearly defined skill-level areas to support rider development and safety, from beginners through to advanced users who are ready for progressive tricks.
The community also responded enthusiastically to the quick build timeframe, which will see the track delivered sooner than many expected.
