Benalla Rural City Council wants to remind local residents and organisations that there’s still time to apply for funding through its annual grants program, with applications closing at midnight on Sunday, June 1.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn encouraged groups to act quickly and take full advantage of this opportunity.
“This is a chance for local organisations to bring their ideas to life and deliver meaningful outcomes for our community,” she said.
“Council is proud to support initiatives that strengthen and enhance the lives of people across Benalla Rural City.”
The annual grants program budget was recently increased to $110,000 and features a tiered system to better serve the varied needs of the community.
Major community grants provide funding of up to $7000, while minor community grants offer up to $3000.
“Through these grants, we aim to empower groups to roll out impactful projects and create lasting benefits for Benalla Rural City," Cr Hearn said.
Organisations are encouraged to submit their applications soon.
Please note that organisations can only receive one major grant once every three years and may apply for both categories but will only receive funding through one.
