Benalla Rural City Council has launched its 2024 Community Grants Program, with $64,000 available for local community organisations.
The program is designed to foster projects and activities that contribute to building healthy, vibrant and sustainable communities across Benalla Rural City.
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for grants of up to $2500 to aid in the development of facilities, programs, activities and projects that directly benefit residents within the municipality.
Mayor Danny Claridge said the funding provided a vital boost to local activities and events.
“The Community Grants Program provides the opportunity for all community groups and individuals to further contribute to the community,” Cr Claridge said.
“I encourage you to take advantage of this funding to initiate projects that will have a positive impact on our residents.”
Council is hosting a community information session to provide additional information and facilitate discussions on potential projects at Benalla’s Senior Citizens Community Centre on Thursday, March 14 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
The event will cover details of all council’s grant programs, and representatives from Tomorrow Today will also be present to discuss its funding opportunities for 2024.
The program opened for applications on Friday, March 1 and will remain open until Friday, April 26.
