The excitement is building and bakers are baking as Benalla’s annual show returns once again for two days of competition, displays and entertainment.

Drawing together the much-loved aspects of the Australian Agricultural Show, the Benalla Show continues to provide a wonderful opportunity to create and display skills and passions.
Friday, October 18 sees the doors open on the pavilion displays of textiles and crafts, art, horticulture and vegetables, photography, wool and, of course, the cookery section.
Who will take home the blue ribbon for sponge cake and scones this year?
Over on the Pryde’s Main Arena, the showjumping will be running and there will be more horses out the back on the Arundel St ovals.
There will be plenty of sideshows, as well as the RedLilly mobile farm in the animal nursery, along with free face painting for the kids.
For those into learning about native wildlife, Black Snake Productions will be near the secretary’s office, with a lot more to see than just the slithery critters.
Maybe you would prefer to watch the Show Dogs as two championship shows take place throughout the day with all manner of dog breeds vying for breed championships.

Saturday, October 19 comes with more horses and more animals. Livestock judging on Saturday includes the poultry, miniature goats, dairy goats, sheep and cattle.
The pavilions will be on display again, as will the animal nursery and Black Snake Productions.
In the morning there will be the Tiny Tots and the Pet Parade. The afternoon will see the return of the Dog Jump as well as ferret racing.
Something a bit special — the dog lawns will not host dogs on the Saturday, but they will host the Brock Commodores.
Yes, the Brock Commodores Owners Association of Australia is dropping by and will have a display of its vehicles between 10am and 1pm.
The show is on Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday from 9am to 4.30pm.Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for pensioners and under-18s can enter for free.
