The group also aims to play a supportive role for families of people who have taken their own lives.
BSAPN’s main activity is its annual ‘March Across the Monash’.
Its purpose is to raise awareness and provide a touchstone for people touched by suicide. This year’s march will be held on Saturday, September 13, commencing at 10.30am, on the Art Gallery side of the lake.
A BSPAN spokesperson said it recently received a shot in the arm, because of generous donations from the Devenish Community Market, and Mr John Moran.

“John’s son, Jason, was a regular stall-holder at Devenish Market,” the spokesperson said.
“Jason had a passion for Ned Kelly. He made, and sold, excellent wood-based Ned Kelly armour at the Market.
“Sadly, John recently lost Jason.”
As a tribute to him, both the Devenish Market Committee and John have made donations to BSAPN ahead of March Across the Monash.
This year’s March will feature guest speaker and outreach worker Ivan Lister.
Ivan is well known in the local community, and is passionate about mental health.
Everyone is welcome to join the group in remembrance for March Across the Monash.
“The BSAPN Network is very grateful for the generous donations made to the organisation,” the spokesperson said.
