The reconsecration ceremony marked the lodge’s 150th year.
Marangan Lodge Worshipful Master Chris Halligan said the lodge had a consecration ceremony when it was first opened, and one on its centenary.
“I’m not sure if they had one for its 50th year,” Mr Halligan said.
“The reconsecration ceremony entails the most worshipful grand master and his grand team coming from Melbourne.
“They performed a ceremony which replicates the original ceremony when they consecrated the lodge 150 years ago.
“They have sprinkled corn on the ground, they pour oil on the ground and pour water on the ground.”
Mr Halligan said it was a very flash ceremony, with members in full regalia.

“They have all the gold chains and trimmings,” he said.
“There were two sets of deacons stood facing each other. They deacons carry the wands, and the most worshipful grandmaster walks under the wands.”
The lavish event was attended by more than 90 lodge members, guests and community members.
“It was a good turnout and was followed by afternoon tea in the supper room.
“There was a huge amount of feedback, and questions.”
The Marangan Lodge is always on the lookout for new members.
