During the street art festival weekend, 11 new large-scale murals will take shape live on Benalla’s streets, adding to a growing outdoor gallery that now features more than 90 artworks throughout the town.
One of the festival’s most distinctive experiences is the opportunity to watch artists work in real time.
From early brushstrokes to towering finished pieces, visitors can witness the creative process unfold while chatting with artists as they paint.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the festival’s impact is felt long after the weekend ends.
“Benalla Street Art Festival has become a defining feature of our city,” she said.
“It brings colour, energy and opportunity to our streets while creating meaningful connections between artists, residents and visitors.”
Each new mural becomes a much-loved part of Benalla’s street scape, ensuring that the festival leaves a lasting legacy for residents, businesses and visitors to enjoy year-round.
“This year’s paint sponsor Dulux is proud to support the Benalla Street Art Festival by donating 300 litres of paint to artists and the local community,” Cr Hearn said.
