Boy, 17, charged over Benalla stabbing

Police have charged a 17-year-old Benalla boy following an alleged stabbing in Benalla on, March 22.

Police allege that two males known to each other were travelling in a car when one of the males stabbed the other around 11.40pm.

The 18-year-old victim exited the car on Waller St and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is alleged the offender drove on to Violet Town, where he crashed the car and stole a passing motorist’s vehicle.

It is alleged he drove that car a short distance before dumping the vehicle and running off. Police arrived a short time later and arrested the driver.

He has been charged with aggravated carjacking and intentionally cause injury, and was remanded to appear in a children’s court at a later date.
