A club spokesperson said those were the Friends Track and Pine Gully Nature Trail.
“Beginning at Wenhams Campground, we soon deviated left from the main track onto a 2.5km loop extension,” the spokesperson said.
“Grand old grass trees and interesting granite rocks border the narrow track.
“We rejoined The Friends Track near the creek crossing.
The Benalla Bushwalkers tackled the Friends Track and Pine Gully Nature Trail in the Warby Ranges on recent trek.
“A welcome late morning tea at Kwat Kwat Lookout gave us time to rest, admire the extensive view below and prepare for a group photo.
“We then rejoined the Friends Track, tackling some steep, uneven sections to reach the cairn on Mt Warby’s summit.
“Returning to Wenhams Camp, we were spoilt at lunchtime with a sausage sizzle, campfire and billy tea, provided and ably cooked in advance by Gary and Desma Versteegen.”
After lunch, the group tackled the short Pine Gully Nature Trail loop.
“The White Cypress Pines and view from the lookout, overlooking the gorge and its little pools and waterfall, were particularly enjoyable,” the spokesperson said.
“Thanks to Wendy Baker and John Boehm for leading this interesting Warbys’ walk, to Gary and Desma Versteegen for the barbecue lunch and to Bev Thornell for the muffins.”
