Public feedback is invited on proposed operating and zoning rules at the three waterways, which are managed by Goulburn-Murray Water.
In consultation with maritime safety regulator Safe Transport Victoria, G-MW is undertaking the review of the current Vessel Operating and Zoning Rules (VOZR) at the storages.
The review aims to improve safety for all water users and to minimise negative impacts to infrastructure and the environment from wash created by watercraft.
The full list of changes for each lake can be found at https://www.yoursay.gmwater.com.au and includes rules governing speed limits and exclusion zones.
“The review of the vessel operating and zoning rules provides G-MW with the perfect opportunity to ensure rules meet current conditions and use at these locations and seek feedback from the sites’ visitors and user groups,” G-MW recreation and land officer Chris Braden said.
Visit https://www.yoursay.gmwater.com.au to review the proposed rule changes, access the link for the information sessions or to make on online written submission.
Written submissions can also be mailed to: The Waterway Manager, Goulburn-Murray Water, PO Box 165, Tatura, Victoria, 3616.
The closing date for written submissions is 11.59pm on Sunday, July 27.
Safe Transport Victoria is responsible for the determination of statewide vessel operating speed zones on and around waterways within Victoria and will consider the final proposal put forward by G-MW.
