Can I go to New South Wales? Information on cross-border travel

As Benalla and regional Victoria leave strict COVID-19 restrictions behind, albeit with a few remaining in place, some in the community have expressed confusion over cross-border travel into New South Wales.

As of Friday, June 6, the NSW-Victoria border is open.

However, the rules around exemptions, declaration forms and self-isolation has led to some confusion.

NSW Health - the equivalent of Victoria's Department of Health and Human Services - has the following statement on its website.

If a person has not been to an affected area, area of concern or a place of high concern in the past 14 days:

● You may enter NSW;

● You do not need to complete a traveller declaration form; and

● You do not need to self-isolate.

The affected areas, areas of concern and those of high concern, which this statement refers to, are listed at this link.

If you have visited one of those sites in the past 14 days you can enter NSW if you fill out a and follow the NSW government guidelines associated with that permit.NSW entry declaration form
