Located near Broadford, the concert hall will be host to a captivating cello concert in mid-November.
Mr Hagen, who is himself a local musician and baroque music expert, is welcoming Sam Goble to perform in a cello and harpsichord concert featuring the composers Boccherini, JCF Bach, Telemann and Geminiani.
“The dazzling virtuosic works from these composers are delightful, ranging from rapid and impressive pyrotechnics for the cello to lovely haunting melodies in the slower movements,” Mr Hagen said.
“Sam Goble, as a regular performer in these concerts, plays on a gut-string cello, replicating the way it was done 250 years ago.
“This leads to a much more refined sound, and as the audience sits close to the performers in Broadford Salon, they can clearly hear every beautiful nuanced sound.”
With sounds from composer Boccherini, who was well known for his superb technique; Geminiani, who had high standards in everything he wrote; and JCF Bach, who, like his father, JS Bach, was well versed in composition, the concert is set to be captivating and dazzling.
Set in the bushland just 10 minutes from Broadford and Kilmore, the picturesque concert hall will open its doors on Sunday, November 16.
