We are incredibly proud of all our Year 12 students—not only for their academic achievements but for their growth, perseverance, and contributions to the College community.
This milestone reflects the dedication and resilience of our students, supported by their families, teachers, and the broader Cathedral College community.
Each student’s journey has been unique, and their accomplishments extend far beyond academic results, encompassing leadership, creativity, teamwork, and the values that define our school.
As the Class of 2025 embarks on the next chapter of their lives, we celebrate their success and wish them every success in the exciting opportunities ahead.
It gives us great pleasure to announce the Cathedral College Dux for 2025, Elizabeth McNamara, who achieved an outstanding ATAR of 98.95.
Ellie demonstrated exceptional academic ability across a diverse range of subjects, including Art Creative Practice, Economics, Literature, Maths Methods, and Visual Communication and Design.
Ellie achieved two perfect study scores of 50 in Visual Communication and Design and Art Creative Practice—an extraordinary accomplishment given that of the 49,000 students completing an ATAR pathway, only 664 achieved perfect study scores.
Ellie has applied to study a Bachelor of Design/Business at Monash University.
We also congratulate Eloise Mudge, who achieved an ATAR of 97.30 and has applied to study Biomedical Science (Medical) at La Trobe University, and Emily Baker, who achieved an ATAR of 93.90 and plans to study a Bachelor of Law/Global Studies at Monash University.
In addition, we proudly recognise 21 occasions where students achieved a study score above 40, placing them in the top 8 per cent of the state.
Principal Nick Jones said that while some may measure VCE success solely by ATAR scores, this tells only part of the story of each individual’s journey.
“At Cathedral College Wangaratta, we celebrate every student’s achievement and journey,” Mr Jones said.
“This year, we proudly acknowledge our VCE Vocational Major graduates—the first cohort to complete this applied learning certificate since its introduction.”
The diverse Senior School pathways chosen by our students—including VET certificates, school-based apprenticeships, entry into TAFE, and securing ongoing employment—reflect our commitment to providing a holistic education that values every individual and their unique aspirations.
We look forward to the class of 2025 staying connected with Cathedral College Wangaratta and sharing their achievements in the years to come.
