Ros Vodusek has received a certificate of appreciation for her service to the Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism Board.
Ros joined the board in November 2016 and has been “instrumental” in bringing change to the board and its vision going forward, board chair Michael Coldham said.
“Ros will continue to support the board’s activities including the Christmas committee for Belmore Street decorations,” he said. “We wish Ros all the best as she expands her terrific farm gate produce and shops.”
Casual clothes day to support FoodShare
Not-for-profit charity Moira FoodShare is encouraging workplaces and schools to have a Casual Clothes Day tomorrow to raise money for the ongoing assistance through the distribution of free, fresh, and non-perishable food items to residents within the Moira and Berrigan Shires.
The group asks that a gold coin or small donation is collected which will go a long way to helping those right in our community. All proceeds will stay and support local.
“The more we get involved the better,” Moira FoodShare’s James Rouel said.
Last year Moira FoodShare distributed the equivalent of over 401,300 meals estimated at more than $3.5m, or over 200,000kg of food.
Food is sourced from local bakeries, supermarkets and growers while using a mixture of free and paid goods from Foodbank Melbourne to enhance variety and nutritional value.
Once completed funds can simply be bank transferred to: MHA Care Limited; BSB: 083 945; Account: 484182129: Reference: FOODSHARE Casual Clothes day

Travel author to speak
Freelance travel writer and Lonely Planet guidebook contributor Tim Richards is on his way to the Yarrawonga Library to share insights into what it’s like to work as a travel writer and excite us with tales of his train journey across Europe.
Tim will visit the Yarrawonga Library on Monday, April 8 at 1.30pm.
“This Europe trip ranged from urban attractions to the glories of nature, all linked by trains. In Switzerland I ate a seven-course meal aboard the Glacier Express while admiring mountains; and in Scotland I made my way to a tiny Highlands station without road access, from where I caught a sleeper train to London.”
Some of the places Tim will discuss include Düsseldorf, Wiesbaden, Vaduz, St Moritz, Zermatt, Interlaken, Lucerne, Zürich, Paris, Penzance, Inverness, and London.
It doesn’t matter if you’re interested in travel writing specifically, writing in general or adventuring through Europe by train, it will be an interesting talk that anyone can enjoy.
To book, please contact Goulburn Valley Libraries on 1300 374 765 or email yarrawonga@gvlibraries.com.au.

11 planes fly in for St Patrick’s Day
Yarrawonga Aerodrome was busy with visitors on St Patrick’s Day when 11 light aircraft from Lilydale Flying Club visited for a BBQ at the aerodrome.
The visitors took time to check out the new ‘Little Red Plane Stay’ at the airport, where flying visitors can make a more extended time in the Yarrawonga-Mulwala area.
The aerodrome gets lots of interesting visiting aircraft; there’s currently a huge Air Tractor cropduster in the maintenance shop at the moment and an amphibian Buccaneer getting some canopy covers from the local Punkin Head Air Sports business.
CWA celebrates Women’s Day
Delighted Yarrawonga CWA ladies were treated to a wonderful International Women's Day Breakfast last Saturday with proceeds going to homeless in the area and the new library fit out.
Guests enjoyed the lovely decorated rooms in Hovell Street, a scrumptious breakfast as well as an entertaining guest speaker, local Tracie Holgate.
There was lots of chatter and laughter throughout the morning.
Thank you to the Moira Shire for sponsorship of the event.
CWA is a philanthropic organisation of women supporting women, children and families.
The local branch meets every second Thursday of the month at 10am. No, you don't need to bake scones or do craft, we are more than that - all welcome.
