The document outlines council’s plan to protect the environment and support a more sustainable region over the next four years.
The draft strategy reflects council’s strategic priorities and its organisational capacity to deliver a co-ordinated approach to climate and the environment.
Community feedback has informed the direction of the draft to date, and council encourages further participation before the strategy is finalised and adopted.
Mayor Bernie Hearn is encouraging community members to take part in the consultation.
“This strategy is about looking after the place we all call home, our air, our water, our bush and our future,” Cr Hearn said.
“You don’t need to be an expert to have your say. If you live here, work here, or visit here, your view counts. Visit the website, read the draft, and tell us what matters to you.”
