Just before 1am on Saturday, September 27, police received reports from the community about a black motorcycle conducting burnouts and driving erratically along Bridge St, Benalla.
Thanks to these calls, police quickly located the motorcycle.
While the rider initially failed to stop, police later went to the owner’s address and impounded the bike at a cost of $1280.
A police spokesperson said the 18-year-old rider was processed for multiple traffic offences and would face court at a later date.
“A big thank you to the community members who reported this incident — your information is vital in helping us keep our roads and community safe,” the spokesperson said.
“As October is Motorcycle Awareness Month; let’s all do our part to spread the message of sharing the road safely.”
