Company supports local man living with disability into meaningful employment

However, after visiting local disability employment service APM, Mr Cogan found his fortunes changed.

APM worked with Wangaratta-based Superior Joinery to create a position that worked for Mr Cogan.

With assistance from APM, Superior Joinery made the necessary workplace modifications to ensure Mr Cogan could perform his duties independently while also feeling safe and supported.

Mr Cogan now works with bolts to put on tube ends and labels them before boxing them up for delivery.

And it’s a job he has now been doing for more than two years.

Benalla APM Business Manager Janelle Dinnie said the whole team had seen a transformation in Mr Cogan since he started his employment journey.

“Kyle is more confident in himself,” she said.

“And he has something to look forward to.”
