The contract, with a value of $273,845, was awarded to Tract Consultants at the August council meeting.
Deputy Mayor Geoff Akers welcomed the contract and the possibility of reinvigorating Shepparton’s CBD.
“It will be interesting to see the type of thing that comes out of this,” Cr Akers said.
Cr Fern Summer was cautiously optimistic and said it’s “quite an exciting project”.
Cr Summer said she hoped any resulting development would “spark some life back into the CBD”.
