Danckert’s double

Tony Danckert was a three game winner, and drawn for the first pick of the Joker Jackpot at last week’s social bowls.

The Deniliquin Bowling Club's regular Wednesday afternoon social bowls was in need of "a bit of a trick up", so Joanne Bovell and her cohorts came up with a Joker Jackpot theme at the culmination of the day's play.

Bowlers are paired off at random to play three games during the afternoon and, at the completion of play, a name is drawn "out of the hat".

That person then has the opportunity to find the joker and claim the monetary prize.

So win, lose or draw on the bowling green, every participant has a chance at the cash.

Last week's competition assumed somewhat of a "two-tone" flavour when the

pairing of Tony King and Tony Danckert were the only three-game winners.

The latter then proceeded to draw out his own name for a chance at the money -

nothing like a bit of insider trading now and again.

Unfortunately his quest for the joker was unsuccessful, and the jackpot amount will be $150 after tomorrow's play.

The club is indebted to Paul and Lee Clear from Clear Lifestyle Support for their sponsorship of the concept.

Bowlers are asked to register their name by 12.30pm for a 1pm start tomorrow.
