Dr Jen Jackson joined the team at the beginning of February 2026.
Dr Jackson holds a PhD in education and has held senior roles across education policy and research, including with the Victorian Government, Mitchell Institute, the Australian Education Research Organisation and the Australian Council for Educational Research.
Jen grew up in a small town in New Zealand, so has experienced the difference a supportive community can make.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Jen to the Tomorrow Today team,” board chair Louise Pearce said.
“Jen brings extensive experience connecting education policy, research and practice, along with a commitment to collaboration with our local partners and beyond.
“I know I speak for all our staff members and board, when I say we are looking forward to working with her to continue improving educational and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and families within our community.
“And supporting her to build on the broader partnerships that will sustain Tomorrow Today now and in the future.”
Dr Jackson recently relocated from Melbourne to Benalla to take up the role.
“Leading Tomorrow Today is an amazing opportunity to do something that really matters — helping children and young people in Benalla to reach their full potential,” she said.
“I get to work with the incredible Tomorrow Today team, as well as hundreds of local volunteers and partners, who are all committed to making Benalla a great place to learn.
“From over 20 years working in education policy and research, I know that what Tomorrow Today has achieved in Benalla is unique.
“I’m looking forward to helping grow and sustain our successful programs, and making sure that everyone who contributes to our work — governments, philanthropic funders, our valued donors and the Benalla community — sees the impact of what we achieve together.
“I’m also enjoying settling into my new home in Benalla with my husband, who is based in Melbourne part-time, and two lazy greyhounds.
“I love kayaking, so having the lake on my doorstep is a bonus.”
