With a raffle stand in Cressy St and a raffle and cake stall in Napier St at the same time, auxiliary president Mari Drennan said “we had our best Easter yet”.
“It was very successful, and the cake stand was well supported,” Mrs Drennan said.
“We’d like to thank Denise Phillips at My Shop who was very generous with her time, and allowing up to have the stall outside.
“We’re yet to do a final tally, but it looks like we raised just over $4700.”
Mrs Drennan said all money raised by the auxiliary is invested in improving comfort and care for residents, and supporting engaging activities.
“In consultation with management, we have a wish list we work from that includes things like shower chairs, electric beds and other lifting aids.

“It also includes other specialist equipment to aid in comfort and health care.
“The auxiliary also contributes to keeping our residents entertained and engaged.
“We’re helping to fund entertainers, and it’s great for our residents to have that.
“There’s also a craft volunteer who visits, and we help pay for craft items for the residents to take part.
“Navorina also has a ball coming up in May, and some of this money might also be used to support that.”
