With more than 80 people in attendance, it had been a very long time since the Thoona Hall was so busy.
A CWA spokesperson said Glenrowan’s Mr Apolla was voted champion busker at the 2025 Parkes Elvis Festival, taking home a gold medal.
“Wow, what a fun afternoon with Elvis performing on stage, then mingling with the audience,” the spokesperson said.
The Thoona Hall was packed for a night of Elvis Pressley classics performed by Glenrowan’s Mark Apolla.
“It didn’t take long, and he had the audience singing along with all the great Elvis songs.
“There was room for a bit of dancing and a couple made the most of this.”
There was an interval with a typically amazing CWA afternoon tea and lucky door prizes.
“What a fantastic day out,” the spokesperson said.
“Elvis certainly had us all enjoying the wonderful rock ’n’ roll music.
People travelled from Tungamah, Yarrawonga, Youanmite, Benalla — including a large number of Cooinda residents.
“The money raised on the day will be donated back to the local area to help families that are struggling due to drought and cost-of-living crisis,” the spokesperson said.
