The achievements of the 2025 graduating class were celebrated at a ceremony on Monday, February 9.
Principal Kimberley Tempest said the event was a powerful reminder of the role education played in building strong rural communities.
“Regional schools build more than academic outcomes — they build character, leadership and connection,” she said.
“Our students understand the strength of community, and many will go on to lead and serve the very towns that helped raise them.”
Ms Tempest said watching graduates step confidently into their futures remained one of the greatest privileges in education.
“We are extraordinarily proud of you, not only for the results you have achieved, the pathways you’ve secured, or awards received, but for the young adults you’ve become,” she said.
“At Cobram Secondary College, we are proud to be creating the community of tomorrow.
“Our graduates stand as powerful proof of what is possible when every student is known, supported and challenged to succeed.”
Ms Tempest also acknowledged the collective effort behind each student’s success.
“To our staff, thank you,” she said.
“Your dedication, expertise and deep care for our young people help turn potential into achievement every single day.
“To our families ... your encouragement, your quiet support, your sacrifices and your belief in your children has helped bring them to this moment.
“Among these graduates are future health professionals, educators, trades people, business owners, creatives, leaders; some will travel far, many will stay and help our region thrive.”
The ceremony included recognition of the college’s highest academic achievers and the announcement of the college dux, Kiara Stephens.
Kiara gave an inspiring speech, congratulating her classmates and thanking her teachers, parents and neighbour Steve.
“I learnt that if you work hard and stay dedicated ... you will succeed,” she said.
Ms Tempest concluded the ceremony with a piece of advice for the 33 graduating students.
“Walk with confidence, be curious, be courageous, be kind and remember that wherever life takes you, you will always have a part of Cobram Secondary College with you.”
