Festival takes to the water

And they’re off: The Club to Hub swim attracted 108 swimmers for the 600m and 1.1km races this year.

Hundreds of people flocked to Lake Nagambie’s shore for the Nagambie On Water Festival at the weekend.

The usual open water swim events, Tahbilk Great Grape Stomp and Costa Community Canoe Challenge all took place, along with an array of kids’ activities.

Making a move to the Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre this year in order to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions, the festival joined forces with GoFish Nagambie to make the event bigger and better than before.

Telegraph contributor Di Grant was out and about taking a look at the action.

Open swim winner: Seymour man Aaron Pearce (right) took home first place in the open 600m swim, coming in at 15 minutes and 22 seconds.
Fifteenth swim: Veteran open water swimmer Don Wilson from Seymour crosses the finished line for the 15th year in a row.
