Four high-achieving Benalla students will be assisted to fulfil their dreams, thanks to scholarships granted by Tomorrow Today.
The $1000 scholarships will assist local students who completed Year 12 in 2021.
They are Benalla P-12’s Charlie Paterson and Lachie Sands; and FCJ College’s Bailey Kubeil and Josh Xingjian Cui.
Tomorrow Today executive officer Rosie Koop said the cost of living away from home, university fees, books and study materials could be daunting
“We understand the financial burden of pursuing university study can place on rural students,” Ms Koop said.
Mr Paterson, former Benalla P-12 College vice-captain, was rewarded for his commitment to his VCE studies and his involvement in the Benalla community.
A passionate climate-change advocate, Mr Patterson has been accepted to study a Bachelor of Law (honours)/Arts at Monash University.
“Receiving this scholarship has helped reduce the financial obstacles involved in going to university,” Mr Paterson said.
“Knowing I have received this assistance will allow me to focus my attention on the challenge of tertiary education.
“I look forward to returning and working in the Benalla area once I graduate.”
Tomorrow Today encourages this year’s VCE students to apply for a university scholarship. Applications will open in October..
