From inedible fruit to award-winning treat

Co-founder Gareth Adams said quince was an old-world fruit reinvented for the modern day.

“The flavour and aroma of quince is a strong childhood memory of mine, and to have it recognised at such a prestigious level is both humbling and exciting,” Mr Adams said.

Judges praised the delightful product, noting the quince’s excellent texture and refreshing fruity aroma.

“Congratulations on preserving the wonderful fibrous texture of the quince in this perfectly flavour balanced fruit product,” they said.

Each jar of pickled quince with gin-inspired botanicals is created with love in small batches, with locally sourced ingredients.

Founded in Numurkah, The Olde Creamery is a boutique farm that specialises in handmade preserves and condiments.

The award-winning pickled quince can be picked up at Manto Produce and Providore, or Casual Step in Numurkah.
