The day began with a dawn service at 6am in the memorial precinct in the Benalla Botanical Gardens, with the Anzac Appeal selling commemorative items and the Benalla Rotary Club selling bacon and egg rolls to the early risers.
The traditional march began at 10.30am and was soon followed by a service, which included speeches by Benalla RSL sub-branch president Paul Hartland, Sara Bertalli from Goulburn Valley Grammar School and Jett Buntine from Benalla P-12 College, and various community groups laying wreaths on the cenotaph.
The Ensign’s Issie Hill and Grace Carter went along to capture the day and commemorate the occasion with the Benalla community.
