Get your girls together for Cup week fun, food and fashions

There’s no need to travel to the big smoke to enjoy the fashions and fun of the Spring Racing Carnival when there’s a popular Melbourne Cup week event returning to Shepparton this year.

Soroptimist International of Shepparton will once again host its annual Oaks Day luncheon on November 5,

With a sweep, door prizes and raffles to be won by luck, guests are invited to carefully curate their outfits to be in the running for hat of the day and best-dressed lady awards, too.

The event will also feature a fashion parade showcasing this season’s fashions out of Soroptimist supporters’ Shepparton’s Shop 221 and Pampen’s of Mooroopna boutiques.

Soroptimist International is an all-women’s volunteer organisation, which supports women and girls.

The local branch supports local causes, while empowering women and girls through education and training, assisting those facing obstacles, promoting gender equality and addressing violence against women and girls.

The Oaks Day event will be held at the GV Hotel on Thursday, November 5, from noon until 4pm.

Tickets are $70 each and include a two-course meal and bubbles on arrival.
