On January 2, hundreds gathered at St Stephen’s Anglican church Jerilderie to farewell Craig Heath who tragically died on December 14 in a farm accident.
The service was performed by Fr Frederick.
He gave a short message based on Psalm 90, reminding us that we do not know the number of our days.
He emphasised that death is not the end of life but a transition to a place outside of time.
Ross, Glenn and Ashley Heath commenced the service with heartfelt reflections on the life Craig lived.
His son Ashley said Craig had three favourite things, described as the ‘Three Cs’ - Cheezels, Coke and Carolyn.
He was also described as a dreamer, devoted brother, a loyal and faithful husband and father, and the ‘King of Kids’.
Craig was also involved in Apex, the Jerilderie Sports Club and was deputy captain of the NSW Rural Fire Service, North Coree Rural Fire Service.
They formed a guard of honour at the Jerilderie Cemetery to lead Craig to his final resting place.
There was a real sadness in the air knowing Craig’s life had been cut short, but it was also a time of celebration as people reflected on a life well lived.
Craig has left a real impact on everyone that knew him.
This reminds us that as we enter into 2026 let’s live each day to the fullest. The final message to Craig from his family.
Your life was a blessing , your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.
