State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland is encouraging all eligible groups to apply to the Veterans Capital Works Grant Program and/or the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Program.
Ms Cleeland said the Veterans Capital Works Grant Program provided up to $50,000 to upgrade buildings and facilities used by organisations that supported veterans and their families.
“These grants are about making sure the places where veterans gather, seek support and connect with one another are safe, accessible and fit for purpose,” Ms Cleeland said.
“Our veterans and their families deserve welcoming spaces that reflect the respect we have for their service.”
Ms Cleeland also highlighted the Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Program, which supports local groups to conserve and enhance war memorials, honour rolls and avenues of honour.
“In towns right across the Euroa electorate, memorials are at the heart of our communities,” Ms Cleeland said.
“They tell the stories of local men and women who served, and it’s vital we protect these sites, so future generations understand that sacrifice.”
The memorials program offers up to $10,000 for planning and design work, with a further $30,000 available to deliver restoration projects.
Ms Cleeland encouraged eligible groups to consider applying and to reach out if they needed help navigating the process.
Applications for both programs close on February 3.
