Volunteering as an official at Winton Motor Raceway offers an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the inner workings of a motorsport event.
It provides first-hand experience in event management, track operations, and observing competitors and teams in action.
Starting from the age of 14, individuals can become Officials.
Each Official is assigned specific tasks during motorsport events to ensure that protocols and procedures are adhered to.
These roles encompass Safety, Medical, Communications, Clerk of Course, Flag Marshals, and more.

For those aged 14-16, Junior Official Roles include:
Assisting the Race Secretary or Timing Officials
Supporting activities in the Pit or Paddock areas
Assisting with Scrutineering
Providing lunches to Officials/Guardians
Helping out on Practice days
For Officials aged 17 and older, roles include:
Race Secretary: Assisting with administration and serving as a communication point between competitors and race control.
Flag Marshal: Positioned around the circuit, communicating with competitors using flag signals.
Pit Lane Marshal: Maintaining a safe environment in the pit lane.
Fire/Rescue: Providing vital safety services in case of incidents.
Scrutineering: Ensuring vehicles meet safety standards and technical regulations.
Communication: Relaying information between flag, pit lane, and grid marshals from race control.
Race Control: Overseeing the circuit’s operation and ensuring smooth and safe race meetings.
Timing: Ensuring accurate scoring of positions and laps for competitors.
