Organisers said dancers from Melbourne to Tarcutta, glorious in their bowties and bling, created a ‘‘special’’ atmosphere.
The event raised money for the McGrath Foundation, which provides nurses for those living with breast cancer.
The group is always happy to assist the foundation as one of their members has been through the traumatic ordeal of breast cancer.
During the night those attending were delighted to witness a dance demonstration of the Tango Terrific and La Bomba by Brinley Hosking and Alex Finkel.
Their dance was so well received by the audience they demanded it be repeated.
After fundraising was complete, on April 10, $1330 was presented to Benalla Breast care Nurse Kerrie Padford who received the cheque on behalf of the McGrath Foundation.
Event organisers said they would like to thank dancers from the Benalla Social Dance Group, which assisted behind the scenes.
They also said that without the support of local business and community organisations the fundraiser would not have been such a success.
Those organisations were Glitzy shoes, St Joseph’s School, North East Country Caterers, Ari Art Framing Studio, Bill Robertson Automotive, Beaurepaires, Arcade Hair, Toyworld, Amcal, the Reject Shop, Mitre 10, Coles, and Woolworths.
