Move and Groove will get school aged kids into the gym, using body awareness and connection to music to build strength and skills.
Run by school teacher Erin Fischer, the program will provide school-aged kids with an opportunity to get into the gym.
“I am thrilled to join forces with Benalla Gymnastics Club to offer a welcoming holiday program,” Ms Fischer said.
“Focusing on keeping physically active, working creatively with others and developing artistic expression through dance, I hope to see lots of locals of all ages and abilities taking part.
Aside from her teaching job, Ms Fischer is also a qualified dance and acrobatics instructor who enjoys creating fun and active programs for kids to enjoy.
Move and Groove will run on Thursdays (July 10 and 17) and Fridays (July 11 and 18) during the July school holidays.
Each program runs for three hours, with plenty of activities and fun to keep the kids moving and enjoying their break from school.
There are four sessions for five to eight year olds, and two sessions available for each of the eight to 12 year olds, and teen programs.
Benalla Gymnastics Club Inc president Alice Crichton said it was shaping up to be a busy time at the club.
“We are really pleased to have Erin, with her broad range of skills, coming into the gym to run this program for us,” Ms Crichton said.
“We have such a great facility at the Drill Hall, and it’s great that we are able to use it for more programs.
“It’s been great to see so many parents interested in this program, and we can’t wait to see the kids come in from Thursday, July 10 to enjoy our club”.
