Hats off to the Red Hatters

You'd hardly recognise them without their signature fascinators, but for the Red Hatters' final meeting of 2025, swapping them for festive Santa hats was the perfect seasonal touch.

Cafe Three620 was a sea of red and purple on Thursday, December 4 as the Kyabram Red Hatters took over for their Christmas break-up meeting.

Once again, each attendee brought at least one present to be donated to the Salvation Army for the organisation’s Christmas Cheer program.

This cherished Christmas tradition of organising a toy drive has become a hallmark of the group’s festive gathering, with this year proving another remarkable success, with the ladies collecting over 50 gifts for local children.

Red Hatters Kyabram Queen Marlene Kerwin explained that while theirs was primarily a social group rather than a fundraising organisation, the members found great joy in supporting their local community.

“It’s just to help out and help the kids for Christmas — we saw a need, and we’ll deliver,” she said.

At its previous gathering, the group raised more than $500 for the national Breast Cancer Foundation, with members donning pink and white attire while enjoying a lovely lunch together.

For their last meeting, the Red Hatters enjoyed another delicious lunch, and thanked Cafe Three620 for being so accommodating over the year.
